Happy Rose Moon, everyone! My roses are a bit behind the times this year, unfortunately. But the moon keeps her own time.

It's been a while since I did a card draw, and the full moon seems like a perfect time. Also, Summer is starting, flowers are starting to bloom in my yard (I've been remiss in posting pictures here, but you can always check out my facebook to see what I've been up to that didn't feel like a whole LJ post when I wrote it. Also, when I went to Indiana for my daughter's college graduation ceremony, I stopped at the game and book store that was one of my havens when I was in college and picked up a new deck--and you have to use new decks. It's like a geas.

So, you're welcome to ask for a card or ask a specific question. You can also request inspiration for a creative project, a reading for one of your characters, or just something to meditate on.

I will leave this post open for free readings for at least a few hours; when free readings are closed, I'll edit that in here, so you don't have to guess. If you tip, it's helpful to mention that here and also to put your LJ name in the comments when you tip so it's easy for me to match the request and the tip.

I've written before about why I do readings and some of the decks I use here, feel free to hop over and check me out. I'll wait.

Today you can pick from my new deck, the Londa Tarot, the Shapeshifter Tarot, or the Faeries' Oracle. You can ask a question or just ask for a card. If you tip, you can also ask for an additional card, or a card from any other deck I have. Not sure if I have a particular deck? You're welcome to ask.

Alternatively, I can draw you (or your character) a Guide for the season (or a project or some other period of time) from my combined deck of Susan Seddon Boulet art cards. You can ask for this as your free reading if you don't ask for a card from one of the decks listed above.

Finally, you could ask to have my Torn World character, Rai Kunabei, do a disk reading for you or for a torn world character of your choice. This will take the form of an imaginary visit to Torn World and will feature the divination disks I designed for that world. Feel free to include some details about yourself to help me portray you in this world.

Please consider dropping something in the case! Readings take time and energy, and I am currently funding home repairs. (Yes, I was doing that last time too, but between then and now, the city inspector added things to my to-do list.) Signal boosts are also appreciated. If you are tipping, please include that in your reply here, so I'm not guessing when I sit down to do your reading. If you tipped or boosted the signal, feel free to request a clarification card if you want one.

I understand all too well that sometimes people don't have cash or spoons, and it is generally during those times when people most need inspiration! Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip.

Tips should be at least $1 (Paypal charges fees) or at least one Torn World credit. If neither of these work for you, drop me a message and we'll work something out.

You can get a private reading if you tip; I'll send the reading to the e-mail you use for tipping or you can send a private message to make other arrangements. I'm also open to doing longer paid readings, for instance Celtic Cross or Wheel of the Year; again, please send a private message if you're interested.

I will do readings promptly, but I irritated the degenerative tendon disease in my right shoulder and intermittently typing hurts, so if I get a lot of requests I may need to rest the arm, and if so it may take a little time. I will reply to all requests. If the number of requests nears my limits, I'll close this One Card Draw rather than risk leaving anyone without a response.

Thank you!

As always, in accordance with federal law, these readings are for entertainment and inspiration only. See my "Dandelyon's Readings" page if you have questions.

5 Knowledge

For you I draw Knowledge. A woman with a witch-lock and a pentacle ear-ring is consulting a golden book under a glowing, five pointed star. She wears green, the color of healing, and on the right, you can see she is also an elephant. Rising from the book are multicolored, three-lobed symbols which march the embroidery on her dress.

A glow rises from the book into her right hand, traditionally the hand used for writing and magic. Her hair is blowing in the revealed magic.

I suspect you will find the inspiration you need by researching the real world, from the tiniest energy particle to the farthest stars in the heavens. Also, don't discount your memory. Your curious elephant trunk has been sucking in inspiration your whole life; you have but to listen to hear the lessons of your own past whispering in that magic wind.

Also, thank you!

I am on a difficult and challenging journey

A guide might make the way clearer for me. Do the Boulet art cards have anything to say on the matter?
From: [identity profile] wyld-dandelyon.livejournal.com
The raven holds a pearl in its beak, and hops along until it comes to a stream, at which time it transforms into a serpent, a lion, and then a smiling woman dressed in fire and water. The pearl remains constant, as she shifts, and in the end she introduces herself as Thetis. She offers you the pearl, and as you hold it, you find a peace within yourself despite all the chaos around you.

She invites you to dance and sing with her, or to express yourself in art or discourse or whatever ways help you to feel most truly yourself.

She helped to raise Hephaestus and provided sanctuary for Dionysius; she isn't at all phased by your faults or limitations, whatever they might be. Sure, you have your own life story to write, but when you need a break, you can swim in her stream or dance in her fire and replenish the reserves you need to continue your journey.

She first presented herself to you as a raven, which can be seen as a symbol of death, but in Tarot terms, death merely means a big change. Just as Thetis transforms herself, she reminds you that you can transform yourself. It is, as I noted, your life story to write, and you have more power to draw in the influences you want in your life than you now know.

Here is a link to an image of the card I drew for you: https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=susan+seddon+boulet+thetis&ei=UTF-8&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-001

Awesome! I don't know that I've ever had a reading from you before. The last one I had on LJ was amazing, though, and helped me break through some issues I'd been struggling with. I'm in a much different place this time around. Perhaps a general reading, and it is so hard to choose, because the cards are all so pretty. The Shapeshifter Deck, I think. :)

For you, I draw the Shapeshifter reversed. The image is that of a cat-girl, lying on a branch, reaching up to touch the center of a placid clear pool. As you reach up through the sparkling water to the surface of the pond, the water ripples away in concentric circles, letting you touch the real you, the you that is making the reflection that you currently inhabit as if it's the real world.

But then, they're both you, the one that exists in the fertile waters of fantasy and the one that exists in the fertile woods of reality. You are the shapeshifter, and your hand reaches between realities. If you're feeling trapped in the pool of your dreams, lift up your hand and go for a run, shake out your fur and prowl on the fences, hunt down something deliciously fun, and reconnect with the larger world. Your magic pool will always be there, it's inside you, after all. You can return and create new magics whenever you're ready.

ETA: thank you kindly!

Hi, I have tipped [home repairs speak to me :)].

May I please have a card from a deck of your choice and a Guide card?

I can use a few additional mental allies in some self-improvement projects I'm working on.
From: [identity profile] wyld-dandelyon.livejournal.com
Thank you for the tip! My house thanks you as well.

I imagine that you are tangled in a snarl of plans and projects, and you start to feel discouraged. The ropes of your projects just aren't cooperating, and now they've snagged on the tree of life, since, after all, everyone has plans and projects and there's only so much in terms of time and resources.

You look up, and you see a think elfin man with a huge shock of long, fox-red hair dangling from a noose. He's hanging, true, but he doesn't seem daunted. He plucks at the noose. "This again? Oh bother!" He tucks his legs up and grabs his boots, as if he's going to hoist himself up with them, and then transforms himself into a green-eyed fox and slips the noose easily. "Well, come on!" he says, slipping you and your projects free of the tangles holding you back. "There's stuff to do, adventures to have, and chocolate--well, somewhere there's chocolate. Not here, of course, but we'll find it, you'll see!"

He leads you into a briar bush, showing you how to avoid the thorns, or at least most of them, and you run together under the bright full moon until you come to a stream. He leaps gracefully over it and you fall in.

There you meet your second ally. Arianrhod takes your hand and helps you to cross the waters, shooing the droplets gently from you as you emerge, dry and refreshed. Ariahrhod is pregnant, as she is a nurturer of all life--no wait, she is an infant, a girl, a crone, and then again the beautiful mother. She is dressed in cool blues and greens, with silver sparkles everywhere. She lifts a pebble from the stream and hands it to you, and you realize it is a quirky pocket-watch. It is smooth and cool in your hand, and it feels like it is smiling at you.

The fox returns to your side, and peers at it. Arianhrod smiles and ruffles his hair, which is still long and unruly, even in fox form. "The fox is here to help you with space, and to remind you that you don't need to be special to chase after your dreams. I am here to help you with time, and to remind you that nurturing yourself is essential to nurturing your dreams.

She smiles at the fox. "If you'll take a suitable form, we can all have tea--with chocolates, of course--and discuss things."

The elf, who you realize is (and always was) wearing similar-colored clothes as the goddess, offers you his arm. "I think we would both be glad to join you."

Card?

I'd love a description of a card, and its implied meaning-- I've never heard of the Londa Tarot, so that's one of my largest interests.

The question--I can never really FOCUS on just one question, you know. Mostly, I'm curious about the deck. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this.

I've been, in fact, smack in the middle of the 'race' to a particular goal, so much so that I'm only finding time to read and reply to a few comments at a time.

I needed time to think about this in particular, because there are four major ongoing goals in my life, three are either mine or directly relate to mine, and the fourth is my best friend's, which I want to help her achieve.

The surface confidence and paddle-like-mad beneath it is, yeah... nailed it.

I think I want to keep the cat. *G*

Thank you again.

If you have time & energy, would I be able to ask for a card from your Shapeshifter deck? I'd like some guidance on what I should be focusing on to improve my work performance over the next couple months.

Thank you kindly for the nudge.

The Sacred Flame

From: [identity profile] wyld-dandelyon.livejournal.com
For you, I draw The Sacred lame, reversed. This is the Shapeshifter Tarot's equivalent to the Ace of Swords, though most decks list swords as an air rather than a fire card.

The image is a dryad being ecstatically struck by lightning. The glow from the lightning gives the appearance of gold coins to the rocks and soil at her feer/roots. With the card reversed, it's as if her branches and arms are her roots, and the coins are her fruits.

It looks to me as if you need to tend the "roots" of your work performance, whether that is finding ways to feel inspired or just taking care of yourself (or perhaps both). Also, asking for help from above (in the spiritual sense) and from below (in practical terms, perhaps advice or cooperation from co-workers? Or maybe you could inspire them?) may be in order.

There is also a cow standing next to the dryad; with the card reversed, I go back and forth between seeing an odd-shaped mountain in the distance and seeing two towers on a hill. I'm not sure what to make of that, but perhaps it will suggest something to you.

It's a powerful card, though in the sense of being empowered, not in the sense of exercising power over others. Whether you find your inspiration in a comment from a co-worker or from your higher self, you are in a position to make constructive improvements. Just be as wise as you can, since a reversed card always carries some amount of either warning for the future or recognition that something you're doing now could bear improvement.

But of course, given your question, you knew that already.

Thank you! Some of it makes sense, especially in light of some of the tasks I've recently been learning. The rest of it I think I need to sit with & think about. Thank you kindly for the time & energy you spent doing this.
