Blink? Blink?
Jun. 29th, 2011 10:55 pmThis morning I found that the grate over the sewer drain in the alley was gone, presumably stolen to be sold as scrap metal. So I drove very very carefully over the car-eating hole and called the alderman as soon as I got to work. So, after work I came home to a bright-orange rust-covered grate. The old one looked better. But at least my car--and all the other cars in the neighborhood--are not at risk. Unless someone steals this one.
So, I got home and checked my e-mail, planning to go out right afterward, help My Angel get the lawnmower outside, and then take pictures of roses, and fell asleep on the couch.
My Angel decided to let me sleep here instead of nagging me to help her with the lawnmower and then either do stuff or sleep in the bed behind the face-hugger. So, now that I've woken up and posted a response to the anthology that was sent to me to share with the other writers there, I have gotten no writing done, no photos taken, the lawn is still shaggy and full of clover flowers (though I should admit I like the clover flowers. But then, my tolerance for a wild-looking yard is higher than the City's).
So now I've had breakfast cereal for dinner (it's fast and easy), and I'm sitting here, blinking at the computer screen, reminded that there's nothing that resembles writer's block quite so much as being too tired. *sigh* I guess today's accomplishments are limited to saving cars, work, and sleep.
Good night, everyone!
