Dandelyon's Worlds

I sat down in the music room last night with the intent of recording scratch tracks for two songs for a possible inclusion in a song swap to benefit a foundation that provides musical instruments and other support for schools that need that support to offer musical education to kids. I don't want to use the old FAWM demos because those were recorded while I was still solidifying the tune and tweaking the words.

So, I turned off the air cleaner and the humidifier, opened up Garage Band, and on a whim grabbed the bass and the new pick and started to just play. And I sat there looking at random stuff on the computer (like videos of this Texas blond woman moving bee colonies out of theater scenery and porches) and played until my hand started to hurt, put the pick down, and then a minute later picked it up again and played some more.

Eventually, I decided it was stupid late and went to bed, so I still have to do the demos.

But it was so much fun!

I need more songs that work with just bass, I guess, since I don't have a band handy for playing with. A year ago I wouldn't have imagined saying that.

Have you ever thought about writing in Torn World, but felt intimidated by the amount of stuff we have there to keep track of? Or maybe you just aren't sure that it's the right world for you, and you're not ready to commit? Or perhaps you just don't want to worry about being canon or even finishing the story?
