New Moon Card Draw

The new moon was ushered in by thunderstorms, here where I live, so I'm not going to be doing gardening today. That makes it a perfect time to do readings for people. The new moon is a perfect time to consider beginnings, new projects, and the like, but just as every day is a new day, every day is a good day to consider where you are and where you're going.
Also, speaking of new things,
ellenmillion is gearing up to crowdfund her lovely Unicorn Key cards, and I'm lucky enough to have an early prototype deck, so I'm offering to use these cards for readings.
For more information, or to order cards once the campaign is started, go here: www.backerkit.com/call_to_action/dd78de0e-e1ac-49a5-8415-a59c4f631500/landing
As always, New friends and old are very welcome.

About the readings,
You can simply ask for a single card with no obligation to tip (though tips are very much appreciated, and tipping allows you to ask for one clarifying card if the initial reading is not clear to you).
I am also offering a three-card reading for $20 or a five-card reading for $35, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. A signal boost for readings or for my Patreon (www.patreon.com/Wyld_Dandelyon) will also allow you to ask for a clarification card on some part of this reading, if you still have a question after seeing the first card(s).
The five card circle spread I designed is described here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/dandelyons-five-60824603 If you want a five card reading, that is one option, but not the only one. For a three card reading, you can ask for past/present/future, insight into an issue (or life in general) and two ways to deal with it, or something else. Also, a special offer for this week: for the three-card reading price, if you ask for a Unicorn Key reading, I'll choose one of Ellen's readings designed for those cards, whichever I think is most apt for your question, even if that reading has more than three cards.
Regardless of the length of the reading, you may ask about real life or a creative project, or even for a character you play in a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for your protagonist or villain, or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts, and I can modify a more-traditional five-card spread into a prompt for a story focusing on plot or characters or a little of both. Let me know if you have any particular request.
You can pick from Ellen's Unicorn Key, or one of the following other decks: the Daughters of the Moon Tarot (one of the round decks), the Shapeshifter Tarot, or my combined Goddess and Shaman Susan Seddon Boulet art cards (I usually suggest this deck if you want a Guide). If you don't pick a deck, I'll draw a card from the Unicorn Key, since I'm excited for that one right now.
The first card is free (though tips are always appreciated). I understand all too well that when people don't have cash or spoons that is generally when they most need inspiration. Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip.
When you tip, it's helpful to me for you to mention it here so I can connect your Paypal information with your request. Tips should be at least $2 (Paypal charges fees). If Paypal doesn't work for you, drop me a message and we'll work something out. The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which does inspire me even though it isn't Tarot-related. Or you can use paypal.me/DeirdreMMurphy
I will reply to all requests. If I start to feel overwhelmed, I will close to free readings; in that unlikely event, that will be in nice bold letters after the word Status above. I plan to stay open at least until late Wednesday for free readings. After that, you can certainly ask for a paid reading, if you want one. Yes, I still have the stupid long covid, though it's getting (oh so slowly) better, so if I'm too tired or can't focus at any particular moment, I'll rest and return later.
I may not post images here because am not comfortable posting other people's art in a public place on the internet without permission. (If I find an already-existing photo of your card, I might link to it.) However, I do have permission to post the Unicorn Key art here.
Thank you, Blessed Be, and may the new moon bring blessings for joy and dreams made happily true!
As always, while I work hard to offer insight and inspiration, all I can legally promise is entertainment. See my "Dandelyon's Readings" page for a little more about my readings.

Date: 2024-05-08 03:33 am (UTC)Interesting. None of the Goddess cards showed up in this reading.
First, you have Elephant. The background of this card is dark. Then there is a simple white circle, inside of which you see a white or grey elephant standing on a rock in a very still sea. In the distance before it is a very distant full moon, and behind it is an equally distant slim crescent moon. The elephant has a rider, dressed in white with leaf-like fire or fire-like leaves faintly glowing around his or her head and chest. Behind the rider is, A fancy mansion? A city? Anyway, the edifice fills the elephant’s back, and it looks like it has tree roots either acting as a girth for the elephant or actually rooted in the elephant’s belly. It sounds to me like the start of this all is a very unlikely and probably perilous journey. I can hope that Ganesha’s ability to remove obstacles and find good fortune is also a part of the portents in this card, since the characters in that predicament will need both.
The second card is Rabbit. Once again, a dark background with a circle motif. The moon shows here too, the full moon showing its nightly arc and the crescent in closer to the rabbit. The liner notes state that this particular rabbit was intended to be Kaltes, a moon goddess venerated by the Urgic peoples of Western Siberia. She is a shapeshifter, and is seen as a compassionate guide to the mysteries of life. This circle around the rabbit could be seen as its den, however, the art shows leaves rising up out of it, as if the art represents a seed. There’s some logic to that, as a seed is a different symbol for the beginning of life. There are other symbols on the card, including a dreamcatcher, so you can use any of the associations of Rabbit here—heroism, the patterns of day and night and the seasons, power, and abundance.
The third card is Parrot. The card shows a young woman with long black hair, and there are birds in her hair, including a red parrot and a blue and gold parrot, a toucan, some sort of small songbird, and several hummingbirds. She has a glowing (ghost?) humming bird hovering over her hand, and flowers over her ear and an orchid at one shoulder. The full moon floats in the darkness behind her. The parrot is generally considered a symbol of verbosity, sometimes foolishness and other times insight or prophesy. Sometimes it has been seen as a messenger between the human world and the spirit world. I find it interesting that even with all the other birds in this art, the card is identified as Parrot, not “birds”. I also note that songbirds and hummingbirds have a vocal or at least sound aspect that is central to their being, and also that flight could be important. The young woman here seems calm, and I get a sense of competence and comfort with all of her bird companions. This is the first card not enclosed or partially enclosed in a circular border.
The fourth card is Goat. Here the darkness is the main figure, the black goat who is looking straight at us. There is a suggestion of a circle behind it, though not enough detail to tell what it’s meant to be. A moon? A barrel of whiskey? Something else? This card also has no border, circular or otherwise. The goat in the art is very in-your-face. Goats are known for their mischief, their unpredictability, and their stubbornness. I looked at this card and wondered if that’s the villain, the antagonist, or maybe a representation of the twisty, capricious, sexy, unpredictable plot? I sure don’t want to fight that goat! Even if the Goat represents one of the protagonists, they wouldn’t be simple or reliable, and even their best efforts will have unpredictable results, causing endless problems one way or another.
The fifth card is Panther. The image background is a circle in a square, with decorations at the top, bottom, and sides that make me think of the city or mansion that’s on top of the Elephant in the first card. It’s a little abstract for a cross in a circle, but the liner notes mention that motif. The most noticeable image on the card is the head of the back jaguar, looking straight out at us, with a white human head in repose looking up at it. Is it the repose of rest, or healing, or death? Once again, behind the jaguar is a full moon. The jaguar symbolizes wholeness, divinity, and rebirth, and can have a powerful magic, with uses ranging from healing to revenge. If the Goat represents the plot, Jaguar could represent the denouement, with healing for the world and the protagonists and revenge (or at least poetic justice) for the bad guys. If the Jaguar is one of the characters, it might be another shapeshifter, or someone whose magic shows a powerful duality.
Overall, the moon’s magic or symbolism seems strongly connected to the protagonists, and the cards move from darker to lighter. I’d say this is a story about people cast by their circumstances into positions where they desperately need to and have some hope to change things. They’re not gods or superheroes, even if they do have some neat abilities. And my impression is that their path to eventually rebalancing their world, or at least their lives, won’t be straight or simple.
Rather than taking the time to find links to images of these cards (though I think all of the Seddon-Boulet cards are available on Pinterest or elsewhere), I’ll send a picture of the reading to you privately.

Calafia, Maiden of Flames, reversed
Date: 2024-05-09 02:31 am (UTC)For you, I drew Calafia, Maiden of Flames, who is associated with Aries.
The card shows five women. The center woman, Calafia, is the mythological leader of a band of amazons who ruled the island of California more than 600 years ago, according to the tale. Her followers are holding torches so that they make a visual crown over her head. The fire aspect of the card indicates that people feel passionately about whatever is going on. I drew the card almost perfectly reversed, which rarely happens in a round deck where there has been no effort made to keep the cards in any orientation. This makes me think that things are not going well. Perhaps people are too emotional to think logically about what's happening, or are sufficiently upset that they are not taking appropriate caution to keep themselves and each other from getting hurt.
Whether you move forward or try to change directions, it is important to ground and center, temper your energy, and let yourself be sensitive to the people and issues involved, to try to find a creative way to get people working together, or to make a positive change. It may be that you need to take a leadership position, or that you need to support someone else to do so. Fire is powerful and transformative, and when it is used carefully and with intent, it is useful, but it is also dangerous. Whether it is a bonfire to dance around, a cookfire to make dinner with, or a tiny candle, carelessness can lead to burns. It might be that the people involved need something as simple as a clear vision of what to do with all that fire to bring them together, so they can use that passion in productive ways, or it might be more complicated, but I think this card indicates that a new clarity and cohesion won't just happen if you ignore what's going on.
Whatever it is, good luck!

Date: 2024-05-10 04:59 pm (UTC)This was about dating, though I get embarrassed about how much I angst about that. Feeling disconnected and being unsure whether it's because there's nothing there with this person, or because my life is stupidly busy and a dating prospect is only getting the dregs of energy.
Last night I dreamed about a plane crash with incinerating fire, and then a soup that I couldn't warm up enough to cook the rice.
Re: Calafia, Maiden of Flames, reversed
Date: 2024-05-11 03:43 am (UTC)I am not sure why Calafia came as the response to a dating query either, though fire does represent passion, so the fire part makes sense.
Though you asked for one clarification card, I did a reading, in part because I want to try some of the readings Ellen designed for this deck, and you are the first person to add a tip and ask for this deck. But also because I feel that a more complete clarification is a good idea here.
So, first, I selected Contact for the card that symbolizes your question. Another possibility would have been Love, but I found Contact first, and went with it. You are evaluating whether there is a chance of a stronger bond with this person. Is there some hesitation, some flinching away, the beginnings of a real connection, or only a superficial touch? There is nothing wrong with casual dating, of course, but I get the sense that you want to find more, either with this person or someone else, and that is at least part of why you are asking. (This is a card where there is updated artwork, so that it will show a lovely glowing night sky behind the two unicorns.)
The second card, New Unicorn, represents your past, the path that brought you to this point and perhaps a direct influence on what's happening now. Interestingly, this is another card where the artwork has been improved. Ellen also renamed the aspects after reflection and discussion with her beta-readers. I mention this in part because I think the revised aspect names are the ones more likely to shed light on a dating situation. The revised aspects are Act: Open / React: Close / Reflect: Safety / Shine: Trust. The aspects I think are most pertinent based on how I drew the card are Safety and Close. Are you worried about your or your family's safety? Do you need more information about this person to feel trust? Does this person's behavior remind you of someone who betrayed your trust? Or are there trust issues in your past that are affecting your openness to this new potential relationship? Do you need to open up more to start to create a deeper connection with this person? (Though this card is in your past, I also wonder, might they be unsure they can trust you?)
The third card, Dawn, represents what's blocking you. Based on how I drew the card, I'm looking mostly at the aspects Wait and Limits. This supports a possibility that you being so busy and having so little time is a significant factor here. But maybe it's just you taking a pause to consider what you might be leaping into. It makes sense before embarking on a journey to look ahead and consider whether you have the resources, physical, emotional, mental, even financial, to embark on this journey. But ask yourself, is it fear holding you back or common sense? Another thing to consider is whether your own healthy limits are in play--it's important to respect those--or whether there are some old habits or learned constraints which are holding you back. What does your higher self say? Are some of these things that are keeping you so busy habits that no longer serve you well? I don't know the answer to those questions, they are for you to consider.
The fourth card, Celestial, represents the Guidance you seek. It landed firmly in the Reflect aspect, which calls on you to reflect on your life as it is and as you would like it to be. For this card, the Reflect aspect is titled Invention. Remember that while necessity is the mother of invention, creativity is its father. What does your world need that it is lacking? What would make your life and others even better? You get to (re)invent yourself or your life, and I suspect you have to do that if you want to pursue a romantic relationship, whether it be this one or a different one. It might not even need to be a big change.
I laid out the cards on the artwork layout Ellen provided. It looks like the unicorn in the artwork, as well as the dragon, winged fox, mouse, and squirrels are all looking to see what you will choose to invent. That suggests to me that your choices here matter, nothing is decided yet.

Date: 2024-05-10 01:26 am (UTC)Chicadee's Perch
Date: 2024-05-11 04:43 am (UTC)For you I drew Chickadee's Perch. This card is about gifts and debt, though for you I drew the Shine aspect, Grace.
Offering and accepting help are important parts of living in a community. And while paying your debts is important, it is also important to honor it when a gift is given freely. But for you I drew Grace, good will and gifts that one cannot earn, but that are given anyway. I am reminded of the chickadees that Ellen feeds every winter (she shares photos here and on FB). Food in an Alaskan winter is grace indeed--and the birbs perch on her hat and hands to eat, which is also a lovely bit of grace. Ellen writes, "We all need a little grace in our lives. One of the most beautiful things that you can give others—and yourself!—is grace. This understanding and kindness is the space that you need to be your best."
It often doesn't take much to make the world a little bit better.
