Dang Rain!

wyld_dandelyonIt's been raining on and off for two weeks, interrupting the plan to finish painting the front porch (which had prior interruptions too). I guess life is just like that. So I had great hopes for this weekend, for the weathermen promised sun. Or at least no worse than cloudiness.
Despite no rain on Saturday, the wood was still too wet to paint that afternoon, so that plan went out the window. Watching Dr. Who, seeing an episode I missed and, of course, the season finale were therefore probably the high points of my Saturday. I also did some dishes, mopping, laundry, and other stuff My Angel hasn't been well enough to get to.
Sunday, I was able to get some of the painting done, but not all--half of the steps got the touch-ups they needed, and the edges of the porch got done (despite the poke-y bushes). Had a good dinner with a friend and then returned home to pay bills. *ugh* I really like to see money coming in more than money going out! But at least, it's not so bad as paying bills while unemployed was.
In writing news, a story that was held for quite some time was finally rejected from the anthology that was holding it, however, with a "you're welcome to resubmit it to the next issue if you haven't placed it elsewhere" note.
So, right now, life is in the "got a lot done but don't feel like I have much to show for it" phase, which is better than the "didn't get much done" stage. Eventually, the results will pile up, and the molehill will start to look like a mountain, right?
