So, along with my rejection slip from Realms of Fantasy was a plea for people who love fantasy to buy subscriptions to the magazine.  And Duotrope lists them as needing subscribers "to ensure survival".

For my friends in other countries, I note from their website http://www.rofmag.com/ that they now are available in a pdf form, which may be more affordable than shipping the magazine itself overseas.
