One of the nice things about this new computer is the bouncing bubbles screen saver. The virtual bubbles are see-through (in case you haven't seen this screen saver) so you can still see whatever was onscreen--even read it-- through the bubbles. It's relaxing and almost mesmerizing.

I do keep forgetting the clock doesn't update while the screen saver is on.

I never got a vegetable garden in this year, between wasting time on the garage and the many cold or wet days we had this spring. So I've been missing out on my fresh peas. However, my friend Ithiriel did get her garden in, and harvested too many peas for her and [livejournal.com profile] filkart  to eat today, so when they came over to do music, I was gifted with fresh peas.  Now I have snacks for tomorrow, assuming I don't forget they're in the 'fridge and leave for work without them.

Oh--and My Angel made french toast out of the current loaf of safe-bread, which worked MUCH better than making a roast beef sandwich with it did.  The Sami's  bread was much better for that, but I'm all out of it and haven't figured out where to buy it if The Nutman isn't selling in my work building this week.  I can have the other half of the batch for breakfast--and thank goodness real maple syrup is safe food for me!!!

And best of all, my voice appears to have finally recovered from the reaction to the out-gassing new carpets in the hotel where Duckon was held.  Maybe my feet will soon stop being so swollen.

Overall, it's been a pretty good day.

This weekend:  Muse Fusion over at [livejournal.com profile] torn_world .

And next week, in honor of the [livejournal.com profile] crowdfunding  community being in LJ's spotlight, I plan to do a card draw, and am contemplating whether I have something new and interesting to say about Busking in Cyberland.

So if anyone wants to share comments or questions about online busking, comments on what you'd like to see me writing, or suggestions for what deck(s) to use in addition to Rai Kunabei's disks, please, feel free to share.

And if not--what's good in your life during this fine full moon?

I am trying to create good things. Speaking of which, I emailed you; let me know if you received it.

I saw it there--don't want to open it now, have to run off to work in a minute or two. If I don't respond, please bug me!

I'm all for creating good things, though you probably figured that out already.

Will you be able to get to it this weekend?

Um...maybe. I'm supposed to be doing Muse Fusion this weekend, and there's Bastille Days to go to, and I just took a 5-hour nap! (I had been planning on 1 or at most 2!)

You're welcome to stop by the Muse Fusion and leave us some prompts, by the way. Or just stop by the chat room and say hi, the link is in the post over at [livejournal.com profile] torn_world

Fresh peas...yuuuuuummmmm. I ate a fresh cherry tomato from my garden last night; the first ripe one of the season. It was like eating candy. Tomato flavored candy.

I love stuff fully ripe and fresh from the vine. They always taste so much better than stuff that ripens on a shelf--and also better than they will taste if you let them wait a day or two before eating.

In years when I don't get my garden going, I always regret it later, at least a little.

It has been storming almost constantly here for the last couple weeks. Yesterday we had a rare break in the weather (and hoping today will be the same). My garden is so waterlogged I worry about spring planting. Here's to hoping our rain tapers off and I won't have the same problem during our spring, that it isn't too wet and I can drag my bum out to do stuff. It was nice of your friend to share her fresh peas with you. I've been sharing some of my fruit with a couple of my neighbors. We've all started trading the odd baked good and they will even bring over a little bowl of their noodles or something (both are Indian and Fijian-Indian) as well.

If you put a post up at Crowdfunding, maybe do a post to talk about what you do to online busk, some of the projects you've got going and how you interact with the audience is different than real-life? I didn't know anything about crowdfunding before I met you and Ysabetwordsmith and have learned a lot, it might be good to have a beginner's type post but also talking about your stuff.

What's good in my life this full moon? Well, in the same vein as busking talk, I went to our local farmers market yesterday to see my favorite busker (SamRB, I've posted about her) perform. She and her partner (who does support) were there for the first time. It was fun, I hung out for about an hour or so and listened to her, got some fresh veg and sausages and eggs for brunch for a friend who was coming over a bit later. It was really nice to meet them both and to be able to sit and listen to her play, I don't get that chance when she's busking because I'm at work and if I see her am either on lunch and heading back or on the way to the train station to go home.

And C and I are going to get up and go to a local craft show this morning too.

We never did get dreadfully waterlogged, it just wasn't pleasant enough to lure me outside.

Great that you could meet the musicians! It's very good to hear the good things in your life.

Thanks for the suggestion about what to post at Crowdfunding.

I rarely get much in the way of veggies planted, but this year friends gave me some sugar snap pea seedlings which I put in a window box hanging off my deck. They've been a fun treat, but are surely coming to an end of their production in this heat. The carrots in the other window box aren't quite ready yet.

Full moon goodness=we have a working AC in our bedroom window. Had fun at an auction Friday night, coming home with inexpensive treasures. On my Friends page, the post immediately following this one of yours is a great photo of the full moon!--Such good timing always delights me.

My mother used to plant peas and pole beans together, so the shade would help the peas produce for another week or so.

They're in a box? If they're still green and healthy, bring them into the air conditioning! Take them out at dusk long enough to let the bees fertilize them, and you might have peas for weeks longer.

Maybe I should try that some day!

Air conditioning? Don't I wish!

The only AC in our house is a small window unit in the bedroom--Thank all the gods for that, or we'd die. No room in there for plants. We mobile organisms must step carefully during the night, as it is.

Does sound like a peasible idea, though. HAH!

Well, you mentioned the AC in the bedroom above; too bad that room is too small to try out my idea! I'd have loved to hear a report on how well it worked.

Oh, yes. Nothing wrong with the idea. I'm just hot and wilted-feeling already; and not looking forward to the next couple of days with a forecast of 115 degree heat index. I think Cody-dog, Tripper-kitty, and I will have to loll about in the crowded bedroom this afternoon. Maybe a tv tray and little chair and my laptop could get squeezed in.

I muttered for summer not too long ago. Ma Nature sure can get uppity, can't she?
