I want to thank the people who have voted for my projects.  You honor me.

The fiction category had enough nominations to require a runoff; the initial round will end in less than a week, on February 28, and a second round of voting will start March 1 and run through March 16. Both of my nominated fiction projects (Feather-Blessed Dragons and Fireborn) were, as of yesterday, likely (but not certain) to just barely make it into the runoff, with the Dragons running just ahead of Fireborn.

If you haven't voted yet, I'd be pleased if you'd head over and vote.  Here is the "Fiction" category poll.

I will be very pleased if the Dragons make it into the final round; if it does, I'll have to put Torn World stuff aside for a little bit and get another Dragons story to you in celebration.

Torn World is also up for an award, in the "Other" category, since a whole world depicted in art, poetry, fiction, and wikipedia-style articles online doesn't fit into any of the more easily-defined categories.  I took a peek at those numbers as well, and I suspect that Torn World has a handicap since there's a noticeable overlap in the members of the [livejournal.com profile] crowdfunding  community (which sponsors the award) and the multiple creators involved in the Torn World project.  Unlike real-world elections, you aren't allowed to vote for yourself in the Rose and Bay polls.  But it must also be said that Torn World has some impressive competition in this category.  I love [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar 's Three Michas, and Duotrope's Guide to fiction and poetry markets is invaluable to me as a writer.  And [livejournal.com profile] s00j 's music is inspiring and delightful.

Here is the "Other" category poll, where you can vote for Torn World or any of a half-dozen other things that enrich my life.

Also, here are links to the categories I was not nominated in.  There's lots of cool stuff there, for instance, Sketchfest and [livejournal.com profile] djinni 's icon days are both up for art awards; [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith's Poetry Fishbowl is up for a poetry award, and there's 11 cool webcomics nominated.

Finally, The Rose and Bay 2011 landing page is here.  Just in case you're not familiar with the award.

Thank you!
