If LJ posts could have subtitles, this one would be:  Shameless Self Promotion.  Because if you don't believe in your work, how can you expect anyone else to?

So, back to what we learned:

At Top Web Fiction, you can load a banner to the site anytime. But apparently you have to hit the top 15 at least once for it to show up.

I'm not sure whether, once activated, it stays up if you drop below the top 15, but it would be nice to see it there at least once!

The votes are refreshed every week (though they're kept in the system longer, so you can look at statistics for (for example) the last month or the last year if you prefer.  Each vote is a different person, no matter which time period you choose.  (In other words, if you vote every week, your votes count as one vote in the monthly tally, not four, even though they count as one vote in each of the weeks you voted.)

You can also vote for other cool online fiction there (Spots the Space Marine and Shadow Unit are both listed, as is Addergoogle), and learn about other fiction you may not have heard of!

I'd call that rather shy self promotion seeing as its in a locked post. I read several of the stories on Top Web fiction and I agree its well worth checking out.

Don't you hate it when the keyboard isn't cooperating? Modern technology is wonderful, but imperfect. Though I do see an apostrophe there in "I'd". I wonder why it wouldn't work for "it's"?

No harm in post being unlocked unless it has private info, anyone who does not list you as friend would have to make effort to be browsing around to see it so it is not as tho you were shoving a great big advert in their face

Try holding the netbook upside down at different angles, shaking gently to let dust and crumbs fall out. The canned compressed air works better, of course, but is less handy than gravity.
