I liked being able to cross-post my fiction to Facebook, and my cute kitten stories too, but I don't want to cross-post everything!  The changes I would have asked for were to be able to change the setting of the posts (from friends only to wider visibility) when and if I so choose, and the option to choose which picture to use as the thumbnail.  This-all-or nothing stuff removes functionality, and is really annoying!  Sigh.

And letting people cross-post a comment made in a locked journal is just wrong. 

Sure, you can cut and paste your own words, and put your words both in a locked entry and somewhere else, but doing so manually gives you the time and incentive to think about how much is really yours to share.  And it doesn't provide a link back to someone who made it very clear that they want privacy. 

At least enough people are complaining that I can hope LJ will fix this.

That the thing that bothers me. The fact that people can post comments from my locked posts.

I think cross posting posts is fine (as long as it doesn't give access to locked posts to people who shouldn't have it) but posting the comments is a bit odd to me. And I don't like the place the "repost" buttons are. It would be too easy to hit them, especially if the computer is hanging up (like mine does sometimes).

Oh--go make that comment, about the placement making it too easy to click on it accidentally on one of the LJ announcemnt or maintenance threads! That's a good point!

I think that is one of the big concerns a lot of people have that don't have FB/Twitter, that their content might accidently be posted that they don't want posted.
