I had plans for writing all this morning. I have a deadline to submit a story to an anthology coming up, and the story hasn't been cooperating. I started it, with some writing I really like, but then it got bogged in the middle. And though I like what I have so far, it's kind of laid back. So I started again, trying to be all more in media res, and it was good, better than before, but once again bogged. The structure just wasn't exciting me.  So during all the thundertorrents, I re-imagined the story, and thought, Saturday, I'll get up before My Angel, leave the TV off, and just write.

So, my bladder woke me this morning at the usual time, but I was still really tired.  So I wisely went back to bed.  Woke up at lunchtime, and had some cereal, and started to write--and then started falling asleep on the couch.  Sleep without the CPAP is of limited use, so I went back to bed, figuring I needed another hour.  But I didn't wake until 6:30!

Hmm...I guess I was tired.

So, now I've had food, and (naturally) the season finale of the Doctor is on.  Then next I have to go get my kid from the train station.  And I still have a story to write.

Sooner or later it has to stop being later, and start being now.

I had hoped to do a handful of flash fiction and poems; the first story turned into a solid 3000 word story. I'm currently calling it Under The Waterfalls. The prompts were from the same person -- seeing an unusual creature, and traveling to an unusual place.

Then I grabbed another prompt and ended up with a related poem. 52 lines! Initiation. Or maybe A Consecration in Pastel Sands. The prompt was Thunderstorms.

Finally, I grabbed a couple of other prompts, and did a shorter story, about 1500 words. Breeding Season. The prompts were a suggestion of a story for a particular character (Dlameda) and someone who wanted to see how the northerners handle a snowy with a medical problem, since they're so big.

I thought I posted this last night, before I headed off to bed.

I guess I was tired!

And I'm tired again today. I went grocery shopping after work, meaning to cook, but my feet hurt, so I sat down for a while...and eventually got My Angel to bring the leftover chicken and lemonade, and ate enough to no longer be really hungry.

Now I'm just sleepy. Which, I admit, is an improvement over hungry and sleepy.

But which doesn't lead to an inspired post. Maybe tomorrow.

Oh, and I have a new icon!

One of the really nice things about having a CPAP machine is that you can cover your face and have really truly dark darkness while you sleep AND have really truly fresh air in every breath. The cleanest air in the house, in fact, due to the nice HEPA air filter. AND the air isn't too dry.

And my daughter's cat, who's convinced if he can see a hand it should be petting him, doesn't have to see any parts of the tired human at all.

Good night everybody!

Good night big obstreperous cat. Good night cute kittens. Good night mellow older cats. Good night unfinished stories. And unfinished paintings. And finished stories. And internet...

Stop delaying, Deirdre, and go to sleep!

Last week was hard, emotionally, but that issue seems to be resolving.

I finally got the kitsune story written; I'd love rush comments on it if anyone's in the mood.  So if you're willing to offer helpful comments and want to read a story (and aren't already on the filter because you responded to my request to inspire me) let me know.

The kittens are starting to roughhouse with each other, and to wander further from their mother.  They're still cute.  I need to print some pics to take to work, but I'm tired.  Despite giving up on doing anything productive yesterday evening and going to sleep before eight.

I guess I'll make sure Mamacat has food and water, and go to bed.
