I occasionally like to remind people that if you're going to support candidates who are likely to win elections, your choices are limited to two parties in most cases. You may find it's a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils, and your local party may be significantly different from the national one. Dismissing people solely because of their party affiliation is short-sighted.
