Evening Out
Jan. 31st, 2010 12:30 amSo, I went and did my thing in the talent contest, not as well as I'd have liked, but I got compliments from a bunch of people. I did Jim Post's Delicate Balance, and then my Coyote Afoot.
One of the people who came up to me was delighted that I did Delicate Balance; he said he'd fallen in love with the song years ago, and later met Jim and talked to him about the song; they'd apparently kept in touch, since he said my performance gave him a good excuse to call Jim.
Other people told me they really liked the lyrics of my coyote song. And the judge who won an autoharp competition came up to say hello. He was careful not to say how he thought I did, of course, but it was nice to talk with him. He has more autoharps than I do, and also has a diatonic in E.
I won't know if they'll want me back for the final round for a week or so, but it was a pleasant evening out. The lady sitting next to me even kindly used my phone to take pictures.
