Rai-Kunabei looks up as you settle down under the tree. "Welcome. It's a beautiful day, isn't it?"
You nod. The wind is rustling gently through the autumn trees, the leaves dry enough to highlight even the lightest breeze. The bells on the houses sound gently from time to time.
She reaches into the bag and pulls out three disks, the first two iron and the last bronze. She sets them in front of you as they come out, each image skewed a little sideways.
"Your first image, the Mountain, stands for the natural aspects of your situation. The mountain is the challenging aspect of land, at once the source of our wealth and the realm where we encounter wraiths. Whatever this reading is about, the abundance and dangers of the mountain are the landscape in which you must work.
The second image, in the man-made or technological spot, can represent man-made challenges, but is more often the skills or tools you need to deal with the problems you will encounter. This is an ancient seaside, a place that for all the sundered years existed only in history and mythology. I'm not sure how distant history and mythology are either a challenge or a tool, but perhaps that will make more sense to you.
Finally, in the abstract spot, we have birth, the embodiment of natural beginnings. It's possible you're beginning an endeavor, but the abstract disk is rarely so obvious in its meaning. Perhaps there's something about creating new beginnings that is important to your success.
She lets you look at the disks for a few minutes, and you look at the fine, detailed enamel work. An older woman was waiting behind you, and Rai-Kunabei waved her forward. They start discussing the design for the new Salamander disk, and you join the conversation, ending up with an invitation to look over all of the disks in the bag, which are the disks made for Rai-Konalei, Kunabei's great grandmother. With great pride, they show you the first few disks in the set that is being made for Rai-Kunabei.
You sit there talking about art and symbolism and Kuleilyi mythology until dinnertime, and then continue the conversation indoors over good food.
