Feather-Blessed Dragons -- What do you want to see?
The main thing that stalled me in this story was getting a temp job that just didn't leave me with energy to do much, but that was only part of the problem. I probably could have kept things moving forward if I'd known where the story was going. Now I have a clear idea, but I need a villain. So, I'm taking prompts for villains. Please leave suggestions in the comments![Poll #1768742]I look forward to reading your suggestions! (If anyone suggests someone else in comments, feel free to add votes in comments.)
Thanks!
P.S. For my new friends, the story in question starts here: Feather-Blessed

I don't know that it necessarily requires a villain... so much as that it could be a mystery. Characters versus environment, characters versus their own issues, etc. Who sent out the feathers, what are their real objectives, are these objectives necessarily good from Grace and Stella's point of view, etc.
What if... They manage to find Home, but Home sounds like a really saccharine version of My Little Pony, with some 'benevolent wizard-queen ruling wisely over everyone' and everyone doing service with little or no personal freedom because it never occurs to them that it could be otherwise, or they feel 'with great power comes great responsibility', etc.?
What if... They manage to find Home, but it turns out that they aren't wanted, the feathers are relics of some process that existed in the past to recruit more dragon/faeries/supernaturals, but now there is only so much magic to go around, and if they come in, they'll dilute the magic that much more? Overpopulation! And what if the magical fields of Earth are stronger due to not having been used in centuries - would that lead to a desire to invade Earth and take the magic back?

An overprotective, allegedly-benevolent wizard-queen is a villain, however!
As to the names, Charlie Chaplin is/was an actor; the rest are fictional characters, mostly from science fiction or fantasy films or series.

Bellana Torres is the half-Klingon engineer on Star Trek Voyager.
Ripley is from the Aliens movies. (I should admit I only know her first name because I Googled it.)

I voted for Charles Chaplin myself, because I could just picture him looking sad and disappointed at the miscreants. ^_^

"Sure, but maybe if you included links to the series, people could read up on them."
I like this idea!
