I think the humor works better if I use a specific media image rather than an archetype. I can always add a bit of reference, rather than only the name (i.e. Ripley from the Aliens movies) to help jog people's memories.
Maybe I should ask the YA writers for suggestions, since if I can market it to a publisher, it will be for a younger audience
