I hope you have, at least, been reading the Torn World stories over here. I do at least try to make sure stuff over here can be read stand-alone, with no prior Torn World experience.
Once you get over there, the stories that start with Building A Home (and The Experiment, which is an earlier story about one of those characters) will likely be of interest to you.
I bet you'd also like Wild Snowy Chase, which is about different characters in a different part of the world, but which has a "flavor" more like Fireborn than the other series of stories.
