Let the Wind Blow!

My eyes cracked open very early today, not for any want of waking, but for the need to release liquids. I peered at the phone, and it was still Not Warm out, so I went back to sleep after the required visit to the tiny room.

But when I woke again, my phone told me it was WARM out, and so (after another boring trip to the tiny room) I wandered around opening windows.

The first couple of windows went unremarked, but then the cats heard BIRDS and smelled fresh air, and then the windows were greeted with Great Rejoicing.

Happy cats is a good thing. Letting at least some of the winter's trapped allergens flow away on the wind is also a very good thing.

In other updates, I'm still on antibiotics, and still sick. Stupid headache and sore throat with thick ucky post nasal drp. The headache is a thing that sometimes happens with a post-viral infection, but the sore throat isn't usual for me. Two negative covid home-tests so far, and too much tiredness. It has been getting slowly less horrible since the weekend, so I haven't bothered my doc about it.

But opening the windows is a very good thing. Blowing away lots of allergens should help. I hope. Sadly, if the forecast is correct, I'll have to close all the windows again on Saturday.

I am slowly plugging away at making sure all the papers are properly recorded so I can finish my taxes, and also slowly plugging away at making sure I've listed all the new songs from FAWM in that spreadsheet. Paperwork is boring, and I'd be done with these if I wasn't sick. Ah well. I'd planned to do the taxes in the first week of March, but got sick, so it didn't happen.

I did manage to record a better demo for the two songs I (finally) picked for the song swap, and I'm excited to hear the songs other people have submitted. And I really want to put together at least one EP worth of songs this month so I have something on Bandcamp to help pay for the new guitar. I still don't know what I don't know that I'll have to figure out to make that happen, but I figure step one is to pick songs and get tracks ready. Which isn't happening fast, because I'm sick. Go away, illness!!!

And I _still_ need to plant some tomato seedlings, so I'll have plants I don't have to spend money on when it's safe to put plants outside in the garden. Peas and pole beans can go direct into the ground, and I got an assortment of sunflowers to put here and there for the loveliness of them (not food--sunflowers are one of the plants that will leech lead from soil, so I'll let them be lovely and then dig them up and toss them in the fall.)

But in the meantime, the cats and I are enjoying the wind blowing gently through the house.
