I hadn't thought about woodcarving (don't ask me why!) & yeah, I could see painters carrying the tools and not the whole canvas.

But yes, retelling stories and singing you don't give your art away the same way you do a painting or jewlery box. Then again, you could change and remake them easier than anything tangible so your art continues to grow.
