Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize

What an honor for him, and what an honor for our country!

I've known for a long time that people are often less honored in their hometowns than elsewhere, but still, this gives me hope.

I think it's way too early in Obama's career for him to have earned the Peace Prize. And there's the issue of Afghanistan, where it's not at all clear his decisions will improve the chances for peace.

Maybe the committee awarded him the Peace Prize for running a good enough presidential campaign to beat McCain and spare the world the disasters a McCain Administration would cause.

Yes, it is early. And I don't know that I would have voted for him with some of the others who were in the running.

I still think it's hopeful that the rest of the world sees his Presidency as a sign that America is now working toward peace.
