The Well

For you I drew the One of the water element, titled The Well, reversed (Shapeshifter Tarot. Upside down, the image almost looks abstract, mostly flowy blues, greys, and whites. The thing that draws my attention is the dolphin in the middle of the card. Interestingly, the image has a lot of threes in it. There are three people--or at least three human heads--pictured at the top, male, female, and indeterminate, each one with the image of a bird at their forehead. Below that is a jellyfish, whale, and dolphin. With the dolphin are two sets of three fish, along with a single fish and a lovely seahorse. At the bottom of the card are three seals. The dolphin has a human face, as does one of the seals, so there is an abundance of shape-shifting elements here.

The first thought that came to me after drawing this card is that a well has gone dry, but while that could very well be a part of the message of this card, there's a lot more to think about here. For instance, it's pretty awkward trying to walk on one's wings. Are you using your skills and resources appropriately?

Something important is blocked, or at least is not flowing as it ought to. I get the sense that this is an internal issue more than an external one. Listen to your feelings, pay attention to your hunches, and remember that playing is not just goofing off. Indeed, it might not be goofing off at all, but a way to relax, de-stress, and learn new skills.

Consider, what wells are you (metaphorically) drawing from this year? Are there things you can do to replenish them or unblock them? If one or more of them is a shared resource, are you doing what you can to ensure that both you and the others using the resource can share it appropriately?

The one of any suit generally symbolizes an abundance in that area or aspect of life. Reversed might mean a shortage, but the feel I get is more that access to it is impeded or that it is not being distributed fairly and with kindness, and that, in this case, the issue can be substantially improved, if you choose to do the work.
