Status: Open to free readings through 9/10; open to tipped readings until this status message is changed.

Well, it's not morning (morning was taken up with wrangling doctors' appointments (not yet done with that), pharmacies, and cpap supplies (there was an error in how they input the order for my overdue mask cushion, so it never got sent), and then I fell asleep for another four hours, but I'm finally here. I may still need to nap between readings, so if I'm a little slow I apologize.

In copying a previous Full Moon reading to edit for this (most of it I could type out easily enough, but not the paypal button--that must be copied or I break it), I am reminded that at least my computer is working! Also, the cats are well, my partner was able to drive herself to her appointment yesterday, and we did have time to buy food last week, so I have lovely Irish oats and other soft foods to eat while I recover. I shall count my blessings.

I hope all my friends and correspondents in Texas and Florida and Oregon and other areas inundated by natural disasters are safe and well. I'm worrying about my brother and his family in Florida, but he has a human family and furred family and a business, and he's survived other hurricanes, so I'll have to trust his judgment. But I told him to come north, family and all, if he needs to.

On to the readings!

I am continuing to offer a five-card reading for $25, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. As always, a signal boost will allow you to ask for a clarification card on some part of this reading, if you wish. Alternatively, you can ask for a Torn World reading and get an in-character reading in Affamarg or the Breidalam Mountains using that world's standard layout for the divination disks.

Or, of course, you can simply ask for a single card (with the usual clarifying card for people who tip). The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which still inspires me even though it isn't Tarot-related. Maybe someday I'll make one specific to readings; it might be fun to do a self-portrait for that purpose. But not today. Today I'm putting my energy toward sending out some hope and inspiration, spark some creativity, or at least provide a bit of food for thought to all of you.

You may ask about real life or a creative project, even a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for a character or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts, and I can modify a more-traditional five-card spread into a prompt for a story focusing on plot or characters or a little of both.

New friends and old are very welcome.

For free one card readings, you can pick from the Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle, the Daughters of the Moon Tarot (one of the round decks), or the Shapeshifter Tarot. You can ask a question, ask for a Guide or for inspiration, or you can just ask for a card. I don't need to know what your question is, but you are welcome to share it with me if you like.

The first card is free (though tips are always appreciated). Tips (including requests for longer readings) also let you ask me to use any of my other decks, including but not limited to my combined Susan Seddon Boulet Animal Spirits and Goddesses cards and my Fantasy Showcase Tarot deck where each card was done by a different artist. Tipping can also be used to request a private reading, or to draw a clarifying card if the initial card (or paid multi-card reading) leaves you with questions. If you want a longer reading, send a direct message so we can agree on the type of reading and rate.

Signal boosts are very much appreciated, and also earn you the right to ask for a clarifying card. (If you only signal boost, please do not ask for two cards to start with. A clarifying card, if the reading is unclear to you, is fine.) I'd love to do a bunch of readings.

I understand all too well that when people don't have cash or spoons that is generally when they most need inspiration! Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip.

If you tip, it's helpful to me for you to mention it here so I can connect your Paypal information with your request. Tips should be at least $1 (Paypal charges fees). If Paypal doesn't work for you, drop me a message and we'll work something out.

I've written before about why I do readings and some of the decks I use here, feel free to hop over and check me out. I'll wait.

I will reply to all requests. In the highly unlikely event that the number of requests nears my limits, I'll close this card draw by adding a clear note at the top of the post rather than risk leaving anyone without a response. However, I intend to stay open through the weekend, and longer for paid readings.

Thank you, and Blessed Be!

As always, these readings are for entertainment and inspiration only. See my "Dandelyon's Readings" page if you have questions.

I've left a tip, but you don't have to give me a reading if it'll take too much of your energy. Take care of yourself first! *hugs*

Almost nothing is TMI for me, so you needn't worry about that. I don't have to tell you to listen to what your body is telling you, and giving it oatmeal, or custard, or five-alarm chili if that's what it wants. Can you handle OTC anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen or naproxen)?

Aleve is naproxen; it's somewhat more likely to cause gastric bleeding than ibuprofen is, but ibuprofen has the potential to trigger asthma attacks in people with asthma. Apparently all of the NSAIDs, including the prescription-only ones, work differently for different people, and you may have to experiment to find out which ones work for you. (My husband swears by ibuprofen, while I find that naproxen works much better for me.)

Can/will you eat milk and eggs? Because plain baked custard is very soft and undemanding, while providing easily digestible protein. And it takes a surprisingly small amount of sugar (and some vanilla) to make it taste indulgently sweet. (Remember, the body needs some carbs to function.)

Organic, free-range eggs are available in many ordinary supermarkets now (although I buy mine at Whole Foods, because one happens to be very nearby). I knew a fellow who was so allergic to soy, he couldn't consume the eggs or milk of animals who had been raised on commercial soy-based feed, let alone their meat; he and his wife and two other couples bought a small farm, where they raised chickens and goats, so he could eat something besides canned tuna in spring water. (They ate the chickens when they stopped laying eggs, but I think they only milked the goats.)

Here's the simplest custard recipe I can think of:

2 cups milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of grated nutmeg (optional)

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Collect 6 custard cups or ramekins, and a large roasting pan they will all fit comfortably inside; set them inside the pan.

Whisk together all the ingredients until thoroughly combined. Distribute the mixture equally among the custard cups. Carefully pour very hot (but not boiling) water into the roasting pan so that it comes halfway up the sides of the custard cups - it may be easier to do this with the pan already on an oven rack, pulled out far enough for you to reach. Slide the pan gently into the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the custard just barely jiggles when you move the pan. Remove it from the oven and allow the cups to cool in the water bath until you can touch them, then take them out and refrigerate.

(Note that each serving has only 1/18 of a cup of sugar in it.)

Did he at least use the nutmeg? (Although Chinese custard snacks don't have any flavoring added - the Chinese consider sugar a flavoring in itself - and they can be quite pleasant.)

There's a YouTube channel I watch, run by a company that makes supplies for Revolutionary War era historical re-enactors, and most of their videos are attempts to follow genuine recipes from the time period. They used a lot of nutmeg then, in both sweet and savory dishes, and the presenter often jokes about it :-)

I've been finding myself thinking about connections lately. There's an upcoming Pagan gathering in just a month, where I always reconnect with my "family" every year... and, more recently, where I muse about my connections to people who are no longer physically present, although their memory is an important part of the gathering. And I want to sing a song and accompany myself on my banjo-ukulele... which belonged to my mother when she was a teenager. I mentioned this song to one of my Australian friends, and he kindly created a chord chart for me to work from - another connection! And, of course, the internet itself is a magickal web of connections.

I don't find one specific message here, but I do love feeling how I'm connected in time, space, and love with so many other people! (Including you!)

Hi, I have sent you a donation on Paypal noted as being for me.

Looking for morale support is my motivation, though I will certainly take moral support!

The world is looking uncertain, I've started renovating the house, and the piece I started writing from troupe of fairies and gnomes back around Christmas, I think, is now at 24,000 plus words.

May I have the reading from the Faeries' Oracle? I do enjoy your commentaries on these cards. :)
