Inspire Me! -- Update 2

minor_architect 's and ellenmillion 's prompts, Ellen wondering about how music is experienced by deaf people (which I have a little experience with, at a women's festival where one of the guests was a drum teacher and some of the participants were deaf), and minor_architect asking what if magic has to be controlled by singing. That one is tentatively titled Vibrations of War, Vibrations of Joy, and is almost 1600 words long.
The other, fromred_trillium 's prompt about gender-bending, is maybe tentatively titled Skin Deep, and is currently 4800 words long.
Private copies of both first drafts have been sent to the prompters, as a thank you.
I'd be pleased to find a couple of quick beta readers; if any of my writing friends are interested, let me know. I want to send one of the stories off this week (naturally, it's the longer one).
